America First Trade Policy in 2017
In 2017, President Trump has called for a new America first trade policy framework, to expand the U.S. trade, increase economic growth, promote job creation, strengthen the manufacturing base, and increase the U.S. agricultural exports.
Here are the U.S. trade highlights in 2017
1- On January 23rd, President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
2- On April 20th, President Trump launched a Section 232 investigation into steel imports.
3- On July 17th, USTR released the renegotiating objectives for the NAFTA.
4- On October 4th, USTR announced to renegotiate the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
