Turkey Reduced Tariffs of Almonds and Walnuts
Turkey reduced the custom tariffs for walnut (both shelled and in-shell) and almond (both shelled and in-shell) decreased to 15 percent for all countries except Bosnia and Herzegovina, to 15 percent from 43.2 percent. The tariff for almond and walnut coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina is zero percent. Tariffs for pistachios and pecans remain the same at 43.2 percent.
According to the USDA, in Turkey, importers have paid 43.2 percent tariff per ton on the cost, insurance, and freight (CIF) value of the shipment or reference price, whichever is higher, for walnuts (both shelled and in-shell) and almonds (both shelled and in-shell), pistachios and pecans. The tariff for pistachio coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina is zero percent.
The tariff for pecans coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina is zero percent, South Korea 19.6 percent, Singapore 32.4 percent and all other countries, including the United States, is 43.2 percent.
